Our Green Conscience

At Green Leaf Aquariums, we founded our business with a green conscience. In our daily practices and long-term impact, we strive to be socially and environmentally responsible. Our fundamental business principal is to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

We realize that one of our most significant environmental footprints exists in our packaging and shipping practices. This is why we strive to package our products with as little environmental impact as possible. When possible and appropriate, the boxes that we use to package and ship our product(s) are previously-used boxes that we have acquired and reused. We know that ugly boxes save trees and resources.

For packaging materials, we use a combination of previously-used materials and 100% biodegradable packing peanuts. When available, we reuse previously-used packaging materials, in order to keep them out of land fills and in circulation. We also use 100% biodegradable packing peanuts, Puffy Fluff, which can biodegrade in the rain and be used as garden fertilizer. We proudly package our boxes with these fluffy peanuts which are made in the USA by the company Puffy Stuff. By consciously packaging our boxes to be as safe and lightweight as possible, fuel is saved in transporting them; if the package arrives safe and sound the first time, it does not have to be re-shipped.

Green Leaf Aquariums is committed to low-impact and low-waste standards. We have a strict recycling program at our office, in efforts to reduce our waste and conserve resources. We use, green cleaners and power-saving fluorescent bulbs. We print on recycled paper, using as little paper as possible, with refillable ink cartridges that last much longer than average. When possible, we buy green, "Energy Star" label office equipment and power down our office equipment when we leave the office at the end of the day.

We use, reuse, and recycle all of our resources as efficiently as possible to reduce our impact on the planet.
